Acceptable Use Policy

1. Introduction
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is part of your agreement with HostingGuru and supplements our Terms of Service. It defines the rules governing your use of the HostingGuru platform, including all applications, services, and content you deploy or host through the Service.
Violation of this AUP may result in a warning, content removal, service suspension, or immediate account termination — at our sole discretion and without refund. We reserve the right to update this policy at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
2. Prohibited Content
You may not use the Service to host, deploy, store, transmit, or distribute content that:
- Is illegal under applicable law, including the laws of France and the European Union.
- Contains, promotes, or facilitates child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form. We report such content to relevant authorities immediately.
- Promotes or incites violence, terrorism, or hatred against any individual or group based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.
- Is defamatory, libelous, harassing, threatening, or constitutes stalking or intimidation.
- Infringes on intellectual property rights, including copyrights, trademarks, patents, or trade secrets.
- Contains or distributes personal data without the consent of the data subject, in violation of applicable data protection laws.
- Is deceptive, fraudulent, or designed to mislead (including phishing pages, fake login screens, or impersonation of other services).
- Is pornographic, sexually explicit, or contains adult content of any kind.
- Promotes, sells, or facilitates the sale of firearms, ammunition, explosives, weapons, or weapon accessories.
- Promotes, sells, or facilitates the sale of controlled substances, illegal drugs, or drug paraphernalia.
- Operates as or facilitates online gambling, betting, or lottery services without proper licensing.
3. Prohibited Activities
You may not use the Service to:
3.1 Infrastructure Abuse
- Cryptocurrency mining, proof-of-work computations, or similar resource-intensive workloads not related to your application's purpose.
- Running botnets, command-and-control servers, or any form of malicious network infrastructure.
- Launching or facilitating distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, port scanning, or network probing against any target.
- Intentionally overloading or degrading shared infrastructure to the detriment of other users.
- Bypassing resource limits, usage quotas, or plan restrictions through any technical means.
3.2 Security Violations
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' accounts, data, or deployments.
- Probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of the Service or its infrastructure without prior written authorization.
- Circumventing, disabling, or interfering with authentication mechanisms, access controls, or security features.
- Uploading or deploying malware, viruses, trojans, worms, ransomware, spyware, or any other malicious code.
- Intercepting, monitoring, or collecting data transmitted to or from other users of the Service.
3.3 Spam & Unsolicited Communications
- Sending bulk unsolicited emails, messages, or notifications.
- Operating email relay servers, open proxies, or open mail relays.
- Scraping, harvesting, or collecting email addresses or personal data from the Service or from websites hosted on the Service.
3.4 Unauthorized Resale & Misuse
- Reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing the Service or access to the Service without prior written consent.
- Using the Service as a general-purpose web proxy, VPN, or anonymization service.
- Impersonating any person, entity, or brand, or falsely claiming affiliation with any person or entity.
- Using the Service to circumvent export controls, sanctions, or trade restrictions.
3.5 Database Add-on Abuse
- Using the Database add-on to store, process, or replicate data from other services without authorization.
- Using databases as general-purpose backup or archival storage for data unrelated to your applications.
- Deliberately performing resource-intensive queries or operations to degrade service for other users on shared database infrastructure.
- Storing or processing data in violation of GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable data protection regulations without proper safeguards.
3.6 Automated Abuse
- Using automated tools to create accounts, deploy services, or interact with the Service in a manner that violates these terms or places excessive load on the platform.
- Scraping, crawling, or extracting data from the Service or other users' applications without authorization.
4. Resource Usage
You agree to use resources fairly and in accordance with your subscription plan. We may enforce resource limits at any time to protect the stability of the platform. Specifically:
- Applications on shared infrastructure must not consume disproportionate CPU, memory, or bandwidth relative to their plan allocation.
- We reserve the right to throttle, suspend, or terminate applications that degrade the performance of the platform for other users.
- Sustained high-resource workloads should be run on higher-tier plans (Pro or Custom).
- If using the Database add-on, you must not perform bulk data imports or exports that degrade platform performance, run queries that consume disproportionate resources relative to your plan, or use databases for external data warehousing unrelated to your hosted applications.
5. Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Ensuring that all content and applications you deploy comply with this AUP and all applicable laws.
- Monitoring and moderating user-generated content within your own applications.
- Maintaining appropriate security measures for your applications, including patching vulnerabilities and managing access credentials.
- The actions of anyone who accesses the Service through your account, including workspace members.
- If using the Database add-on, encrypting any sensitive data within your databases and managing access controls appropriately. HostingGuru does not monitor database contents.
- Ensuring that any personal data stored in your databases complies with GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable data protection laws.
6. Enforcement
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to:
- Investigate any suspected violation of this AUP.
- Issue a warning and request remediation within a specified timeframe.
- Remove or disable access to content that violates this AUP, without prior notice.
- Suspend or throttle services associated with a violation.
- Immediately terminate your account for severe or repeated violations, without refund.
- Report illegal activity to law enforcement or relevant authorities.
- Cooperate with law enforcement investigations, including providing account information and logs as required by law.
We are under no obligation to monitor all content hosted on the Service, but we may do so at our discretion. Lack of enforcement in any particular case does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce this AUP in the future.

If you believe that content or activity on the Service violates this AUP, please report it to:

Please include as much detail as possible, including the URL of the content in question, the nature of the violation, and any supporting evidence. We will review all reports and take appropriate action.

What kinds of applications are prohibited on HostingGuru?

How does HostingGuru handle abuse reports?
Reports sent to [email protected] are investigated within 24 hours. Minor violations get a remediation request; serious or repeated violations lead to suspension or termination.
Can I host a private project with adult content?
Lawful adult content distributed to verified adults is permitted under additional conditions (age verification, hosting region restrictions). Contact us before deploying to confirm your use case.
